The StatusCake alternative with deeper SSL monitoring
StatusCake offers SSL monitoring as a feature on paid plans. CertFleet is built around it: live TLS probing, Certificate Transparency alerts, staged thresholds at 30/14/7/1 days, and signed webhooks — all at the entry tier, with full uptime monitoring included.

StatusCake monitors SSL certificates on paid plans, checking whether a certificate is valid and flagging it when
it falls within a days-remaining threshold you configure. The check is an expiry check — it reads the certificate's
notAfter date and compares it to today. It does not verify whether the certificate served on port 443
is the same as the one issued by the CA, and it does not monitor Certificate Transparency logs for new or
unexpected issuances.
CertFleet performs a live TLS handshake on every scheduled check and reads the certificate your server actually presents. If the certificate has been replaced — by a renewal, an issuer change, or an unexpected third party — CertFleet detects the change immediately and fires an alert. CT log monitoring runs in parallel: the moment a new certificate is issued for any of your domains, you receive an immediate notification, independent of the scheduled check cycle.
Staged expiry thresholds at 30, 14, 7 and 1 days before expiry are built into every CertFleet SSL monitor. Each threshold fires exactly once — idempotent delivery — so you get a structured, escalating alert sequence without alert fatigue. StatusCake's SSL alerts fire at a single configurable threshold. For teams running change-management processes that need advance notice at multiple stages, the staged approach is more practical.
Webhooks are included at CertFleet's $15/mo entry tier, HMAC-signed for payload integrity verification. StatusCake's webhook integrations are available on paid plans. CertFleet's REST API is also available from the entry tier, letting you pull certificate state and check history into dashboards, SIEM tools, or CI pipelines without polling the web UI.
For teams using StatusCake primarily for uptime monitoring with SSL as a secondary concern, CertFleet handles both: configurable HTTP checks (method, path, expected status codes, keyword match, interval) with the same alert channel configuration as SSL monitoring. Free for 10 SSL + 10 uptime monitors. Starter at $15/mo scales to 25 of each with webhooks and API.
10 SSL + 10 uptime monitors free. Staged expiry alerts, CT monitoring, and signed webhooks at $15/mo.
